This page explains what information this website collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It is written in plain language and reflects how the site actually works.

The Vitamin D3 Regimen website (vitamindregimen.com) is a free, patient-led educational resource about the Vitamin D3 Anti-Inflammatory Regimen for cluster headache. It is run by Craig Stewart. We collect only the information needed to run the site and to send you things you have asked for, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

What we collect, and why

Everything below is collected only when you choose to give it to us by filling in a form. We do not require you to create an account.

  • Newsletter sign-up:your email address and which page you signed up from, so we can send you the updates you requested.
  • Guide-update notifications:your email address and which guide you are interested in, so we can let you know when that guide is revised.
  • Contact form:your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and country, plus your message, so we can reply to you.
  • Article comments:your name, email address, an optional website, and your comment. Your email address is not published; it is used only in connection with your comment. Comments are reviewed before they appear.
  • Messages for Pete:your name, your message, and optionally your country and how long you have followed the regimen. These are reviewed before they appear on the page.
  • Community outcomes survey:your survey answers, your explicit consent, and optionally your email address (which lets us avoid duplicate entries and follow up). Survey data is used for aggregate, community-level analysis.

Information collected automatically

  • Aggregate page views. We keep simple counts of how often pages are viewed. Traffic that looks automated (bots and crawlers) is filtered out of these counts.
  • A non-reversible visitor fingerprint. To limit spam and duplicate submissions, and to show an approximate “visitors online now” figure, we store a one-way hash derived from your IP address and browser details together with a value that changes every day. This hash cannot be reversed to recover your IP address or identify you, and we do not store your raw IP address alongside your form submissions.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. IP-address anonymisation is enabled, and Google sets its own cookies for this purpose. You can block these cookies in your browser or with a browser extension without losing access to any content on the site.

We set a first-party session cookie only when you submit one of the forms above (to protect the form) and for the private administration area. Ordinary browsing of the site does not set a first-party cookie.

Who we share information with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers needed to operate the site:

  • Google Analytics, for the aggregate usage statistics described above.
  • Our hosting and email providers, which process data on our behalf so the site can run and so we can send the emails you request. Update and notification emails may be delivered through an automated mailing tool that we operate.

How long we keep it

We keep the information you submit for as long as it is useful for the purpose you gave it (for example, to keep sending you the updates you subscribed to), or until you ask us to remove it. Every outreach email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops future emails to that address.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send you.
  • Access, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing us at the address below.
  • Decline analytics cookies through your browser settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data under laws such as the GDPR. We will honour those rights, so please contact us and we will help.

Children

This website offers general health education and is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are validated and protected against common abuse, and we do not collect or store payment information, because the site sells nothing and takes no payments. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you share.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
